Eminem - 3 A.M. Official Music Video HQ 9 May 2009
The Eminem 3 A.M. video had a dramatic rollout on the cable channel Cinemax as it was shown before the television premiere of the horror movie The Strangers, which stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. The video was shown in an uncensored form on Cinemax on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 10pm ET/PT. The Cinemax premiere was a first ever music video premiere for the network.
The Eminem 3 A.M. video was directed by Syndrome who has directed music videos for T-Pain, Danity Kane. The track was produced by Dr. Dre. Eminem 3 a.m. is a tribute to his late friend Proof and originally had its premiere on rapradar.com, an urban music and lifestyle Web site founded by Elliot Smith, former XXL editor and Paul Rosenberg, head of Shady Records.
Eminem took a four year long hiatus and has returned with a highly anticipated sixth studio album, Relapse set for release in May 19, 2009. The rapper, who is also known as Slim Shady, has been essentially absent from the music scene since his 2004 album Encore.
Eminems return to the music scene has made headlines, first with the video for his single, We Made You, the controversial send-up of celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and the shallowness of pop culture in general.
Now, in a different turn, the rapper is taking on the dark subject matter with lyrics that explore the mind of a serial killer in the new 3 a.m. video; the graphic content of both the video and the lyrics have also made headlines.
In the roll-out of the highly anticipated Eminem Relapse album, two more tracks from the album have been made available for sale as downloads; Old Time Sake (featuring Dr. Dre) on May 5 and Beautiful on May 12.
